This Privacy Policy explains how ClashGoblin ("we", "us") handles information when you use the ClashGoblin website, the ClashGoblin Discord bot, and the Goblin Bot Discord bot (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Discord we store your Discord ID, username, and avatar. We do not store your email address or your Clash of Clans login credentials. When you link a Clash of Clans account, we store the player tag you provide and the public game statistics associated with it (such as battle results, army compositions, and trophy counts) retrieved from Supercell's official Clash of Clans API.
When you use "Missing a player?" on the meta page, we look the tag you enter up in Supercell's public Clash of Clans API, and if the player places on one of our leaderboards we start tracking their public game statistics. Your IP address is used only to limit how many lookups one visitor can make: it is held in memory for at most a day and never stored.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, to provide performance analytics and digests, to operate features of the Discord bots, and to maintain and improve the Services. We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing and third parties
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the Services, including Discord (authentication and bot platform), Supabase (database hosting), Cloudflare (content delivery, and storage for the player photographs described below, held in the EU), Supercell's Clash of Clans API (game data) and ClashKing (competitive game data). Information is shared with these providers only as needed to operate the Services. We may also disclose information where required by law.
People featured on ClashGoblin
Some pages on ClashGoblin show photographs and names of competitive Clash of Clans players who are not necessarily ClashGoblin users. We obtain these photographs from public competitive rosters — principally Competitive Clash Network — and from submissions by trusted contributors. We only use a photograph where the player has made it public on the source roster.
We show these photographs alongside public in-game statistics so that players are recognisable to the community that follows competitive play. We rely on our legitimate interests in running a recognisable competitive statistics site, having weighed that against the privacy of the people shown. You can ask us for a summary of that assessment.
We keep a photograph only while the player is competitively active or their profile page is being viewed. After that it is deleted automatically. We do not store the original file we received — images are re-encoded on upload, which removes embedded camera and location data. We do not use photographs for facial recognition or to identify anyone, and we do not share them with anyone else.
If a photograph of you appears on ClashGoblin, ask and we will remove it. Use the “Remove this photo” link under the photograph on your player page, email [email protected] or message us on Discord. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask you to prove who you are. The same applies if you are a parent or guardian asking on behalf of someone under 18. You can also ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to us showing it. Removals take effect within minutes of us acting on them; copies in routine backups are overwritten on our normal backup cycle.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time using the contact details below.
Your choices
You may unlink a Clash of Clans account, stop using the Discord bots, or request deletion of your data at any time. Removing the bots from a server or revoking the Discord authorization will stop further data collection through those channels.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
